 Photographer Al Olson |
The Pagosa Springs Photography Club will meet Wednesday evening March 10 in the Arts Room at the Community Center. Join us for socializing starting at 6:00pm, followed by photo critiquing, program and business meeting at 6:30pm. The Pagosa Photo Club is pleased to present this month's program on "Still Life and Macro Photography", sometimes called Table Top Photography and will be presented by Al Olson. Al will have some equipment for people to examine hands on. These will include cameras and attachments such as close-up lenses, extension tubes, extension bellows on a rail, and a large format rail camera for members to view subjects via the different cameras and accessories.
He will also talk about macro lenses and demonstrate the reversal of a lens to obtain closer focus. There will be a slide show presentation to illustrate and discuss the various close-up techniques. This will include lighting, exposure, and controlling the depth of focus. Al will be presented in a four-person Still Life Show at the Open Shutter from May 7 through June 30. Monthly photo theme exhibit is held during each club meeting. The two categories are the theme category and the open category where any subject is allowed. This month’s theme is “Macro”. Members may enter as many as three prints or digital images, but no more than two in either category. President T.J. Reynolds will lead the critique of photos. This will be done as a group rather than have specific judges. The Photo Club meets the second Wednesday of each month during the club year from September through May at 6pm at the Community Center Arts and Crafts Room.
Interested photography enthusiasts are welcome to attend at no charge for the first meeting. Any and all are invited to join for annual dues of $20 for single individuals and $30 for family membership.
For more information, contact club president T. J. Reynolds at rmp1950@msn.com or 970-731-9681. |
