The Grand Opening Ceremony for The Socorro Senior Living Project was held Friday, January 29. Several guests toured the new facility and met some of the residents in their brand new homes.
The Project completion was December 2009 and includes 20 low income senior apartments. In-floor radiant heat, energy efficient boiler and low E windows are among the many energy saving features of Socorro. Continued...

Socorro Senior Living was made possible through funding from the Dept. of Housing and Urban Development and Urban Development's Section 202 Program, the Federal Home Loan Bank of Topeka, Vectra Bank Colorado, the Colorado Division of Housing, Energy Outreach Colorado, and a land donation from the Archuleta County Housing Authority.
The Housing Solutions For the Southwest acknowledged the work of their late Board Chairman, Gene Crabtree for his passion for this community and his dedication to meet the need for affordable housing. Continued...
