 Pagosa Springs' WinterFest seemed more like the real deal this past weekend when the Springs Resort on Hot Springs had its own mini X Games platform installed — for some pretty impressive Boarding and Skiing Stunts with a Jump and 2 Rails. The evening event was billed as "Slide & Soak" and was a new addition this year to the annual WinterFest celebration.
Guys, and a few gals, entertained large crowds with thrills and spills. Loud hip hop music kept a steady beat of boarders pounding the 3 runs. The Friday evening event was a smashing success with comfortable temps and cheers and music that could easily be heard for blocks. Continued...
Registered boarders competed for cash and prizes plus many giveaways were tossed to the ecstatic tweens and teens. The Saturday event had its own clearly beautiful day and plenty of back to back runs, for 30 plus participants. Many more spectators from the older set showed up and the rides were fun to watch.
